SENSIBLE SHELTERS

SENSIBLE SHELTER was the first of a sequence of workshops on technology, design and architecture conducted by LAMO (Laboratory of Modeling and Digital Fabrication) of UFRJ (Federal University of Rio de Janeiro).

This edition was focused in architecture e physical interaction by the development of small responsive canopy structures capable of sensing and reacting.

The work was developed in two fronts: Digital: modeling with parametric 3D tools;

Physical: creating mechanical funcional mock-ups as proof of concept of the systems.

My work was to lead the Physical team, by teaching all sort of tools for the interaction, from a introduction on Interactive Design, Story-boarding reactions, Coding, Electronics and Mechanics.
